General information
It is well known that even relatively small amounts of fluid loss through sweat can lead to significant performance losses. Therefore, effective hydration before, during and after training/competition plays a very important role for ambitious athletes to maintain performance and perform at their best.
Electrolytes ensures better hydration and therefore better performance compared to water or other normal drinks. This in turn ensures a significant increase in endurance performance and therefore better results depending on the goal (endurance, muscle building, fitness).
Electrolytes
- improves the speed and quantity of fluid intake
- supplies exactly the most important electrolytes and in exactly the same ratio as they are lost through sweat
- increases performance during training or competition.
And all this thanks to a hydration matrix based on sports and nutritional science. For real effect - in contrast to the usual electrolyte drinks on the market.
Important: Food supplements are only ever a supplement to a balanced and healthy diet and a healthy lifestyle.
The effect of Electrolytes
Just 2% weight loss due to perspiration has a significant impact on performance. If you consider that, depending on the intensity of performance and temperature, up to 2 liters per hour are "sweated out", this can occur after just 60 minutes.
The International Society of Sports Nutrition therefore recommends that carbohydrate-electrolyte solutions in particular should be used for rehydration. These significantly improve hydration compared to water. Especially if sessions last more than an hour (or if you don't start a session well hydrated).
The European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) also confirms this: The combination of fast-digesting carbohydrates and electrolytes (especially sodium) in the right concentration improve fluid intake. This results in better performance.
This is precisely why Electrolytes provides the electrolytes that are lost most through sweat in the right proportions. Even taking into account the absorption rate of the individual electrolytes.
In addition, Electrolytes contain exactly the right amount of easily digestible carbohydrates required for optimum hydration. Not too much, so as not to take in too many carbohydrates unnecessarily, and not too little, so that hydration is not optimal.
With just one drink, you can provide your body with essential electrolytes and a delicious taste while improving your performance.
FAQ Electrolytes
How is Electrolytes taken?
Depending on the duration and intensity of your training, mix 1 to 2 sachets (22.5 g to 45 g) of Electrolytes Pro with 625 ml to 1,300 ml of water and drink before, during and/or after training or competition according to your hydration requirements.
Can I mix Electrolytes with a carbohydrate powder?
You can also mix Electrolytes with carbohydrate powders. This could help you achieve even better results. We have already added an electrolyte complex to some of our products. You can take a look at our endurance products.
What is the difference between Hydorade and the electrolyte powder?
The electrolytes in the sachets are something that goes more in the performance direction and can be used perfectly as an intra-workout, especially because of the carbs. Even if the ESN Hydorade can also be used for this in principle, the Hydorade is a little more ‘lifestyle-heavy’ and is also simply great as a tasty, refreshing drink in summer or generally during activities where you sweat a lot and want to compensate for the loss of fluids and minerals.
